Single Player, 3rd person Story-Driven Platform Game with Magic-based environmental interactions. Players will have to navigate environmental puzzles spread in the final of four different areas and use the power of the four elemental essences to explore a fantasy themed world in order to progress through the story.

This Vertical Slice was the result of our team’s efforts during the 2nd of Game Design School at Accademia Italiana dei Videogiochi.

Level Designer and Environment Art: this was my biggest contribution by far. I Designed and composed the entire map of the game from start to finish and was a massive job considering the size of the map, the short time we had to complete it and the fact I had other tasks to achieve in the project. This job also included designing and scripting all the platforming puzzles and interactions for the narrative system.

Designed & Scripted Main Character: I choose the mesh and scripted the animations and locomotion system, but I alo designed the magic mechanics, in particular the mana system. The highlight of this job was scripting the Ice Bridge mechanic inspired by the Silver Surfer.

I Designed & Scripted Progression Systems: the game has a small progression system which consists in collecting large crystals which in turn unlock the various abilities the players can use. This is accompanied by a fairly varied collection system which includes customisation options for the main character and quests players can complete. All of these system were completely designed and scripted by me.

Scripted UI: I contributed in the scripting of the UI system as, due to a problem of miscommunication, it hadn't been fully scripted by the programmer tasked with it, so I had to chip in at the very last minute to complete the scripting.

Finally I Designed, Wrote & Scripted all of the texts in the game: from quests to narrative beats to all NPC dialogues. I was also responsible for the in-game cinematics.
